Hypno Man’s Spiral Pierces Two New Minds
A Megaman commission for SilverKazeNinja

Hypno Man’s secret island base was buzzing.  Not with activity, just buzzing.

It turned out that Honey Woman made a low, bee-like buzzing sound when she was in a pleasant mood.  It was likely used to try and calm the bees she usually kept an eye on.

Hypno Man had found it a bit annoying at first, but he had gotten used to it.  And now that he had reprogrammed her auto defense to no longer attack him, he was able to casually sit her on his lap as he lorded over his domain.  To an onlooker, he would have seemed like a lord or king, ruling his minions with an iron (sorta literal) fist!

Too bad the only one’s there were Hypno Man and Honey Woman.  Splash Woman had gone back on patrol.

“Mrrgh I need more minions.”  Hypno Man declared aloud.

“Sounds fun, Master!  Who are you going to recruit?”  She asked smiling.

Hypno Man typed at a keyboard by his throne, bringing a picture up.  “Dr. Light’s files point to this one being a good choice.”  He poked at the screen.  “Now I just need to come up with a plan.  It wouldn’t do to walk in on her when she’s surrounded by allies…  Hmm…”

At a mining site somewhere in the North…

“I have my orders.  My work will not be interrupted because you say so.”

“You’re work will stop here.  Our company is claiming the rights to this land.  You will clear out.”

Tempo, AKA Quake Woman would have groaned in annoyance if she wasn’t still getting used to her feelings again.  She had been sent to investigate a strange energy reading detected in an old mine.  The frequency of these reading were, as Doctor Light had put it, “eerily close to the same energy signatures that certain alien robots had been using.”  As an expert at geological surveying and excavation, Quake Woman had been sent to investigate.

The first few days had gone smoothly. Tempo and a few human scientists and robot workers had found a safe route to dig to find the energy source.  Tempo had begun digging and had been making steady progress.

And then the X Corporation had appeared.  The enigmatic Madam Y had shown up, sending her oddly dressed minions all over.

“I will say this again.”  Madam Y continued.  “X Corporation has claimed property rights to this area.  You will cease digging and vacate the area.”

“Previous data shows that this area is publically owned by the local government.”  Tempo pointed out.  “It is with their permission that we continue to dig here.  The idea that it could have changed hands so quickly is absurd.”

“It’s didn’t ‘change hands’ at all.”  Madam Y explained.  “The locals were simply unaware that we own the area.  They are the ones to make a mistake.”

The audacity of this woman shocked Tempo, and that was saying something. “I’m sorry, but if you expect me to believe such nonsense, you must be delusional.”

“You don’t have to believe it.”  Madam Y adjusted her glasses and glared at Tempo.  “You just have to obey.  Remember the three laws?”

Tempo was obligated to obey the three laws of robotics, but there were loopholes large enough to fire a Charged Shot through.  Technically, she didn’t have to obey every human, just the ones with authority over her.  And at this moment, only her mother, Doctor Light, and the director of the dig site.  Madam Y was not one of them.

However, out of those three, only the director was here.  And he was quickly becoming quite intimidated by the number of X Corporation workers flooding the area.  There was a strong possibility he might order them to leave in order to avoid a confrontation.  She had to think of something quickly; otherwise this woman would walk all over them.

But before anything came to mind…

“Look over there!”  One of the dig workers shouted, pointing towards the horizon.  “what is that?!”

Tempo and Madam Y looked in that direction and saw what looked like a black cloud, moving erratically.  It drew closer, and Tempo heard a faint buzzing sound, quickly growing louder.  Then it hit her.

“Bee Swarm!”  She announced.  “Get inside now!”

The humans panicked and headed for whatever cover they could find.  The workers ran for the portable buildings they’d set up for the dig.  Most of the X Corporation ran for their vehicles, except for Madam Y.  She and Tempo were too far away from all the buildings except one.

“Follow me!”  Tempo ordered.  Madam Y didn’t argue and followed the robot girl to a small tool shed nearby.  It was packed with digging gear, so Tempo tossed it all outside and pushed Madam Y inside before the woman could protest.  Then she jumped in with her and closed the door, holding it shut with one hand, since it didn’t lock from within.

It was a tight fit, to say the least.  Madam Y’s back was pressed against the opposite wall, with Tempo pressed up against her.  The robot girl’s face was shoved against Y’s breast, and both their legs were a tangled mess.

“Move!”  Madame Y ordered.

“I cannot.”  Tempo explained.  “If I shift from this position, the door could open and allow the bees to enter.”  Almost as if to prove her point, the sound of loud buzzing swept over the toolshed.

Madam Y’s face turned an unpleasant shade of blue.  “Th-this is all your fault!”  She declared.  “If you had just cleared out when I told you to-!”

“It would have taken us two hours to pack our things and leave.”  Tempo interrupted.  “Even if we had acted as soon as you arrived, this swarm would still be on is.”

Y growled in annoyance.  “What’s wrong with these bees anyway?”

“I am built for geology, not entomology.”  Tempo retorted.  “Your guess is as good as mine.”

The two could only wait in silence, tangled together like a pretzel.  Then the buzzing started to fade, just a little.

“Hear that?  Maybe they’re leaving.”  Madam Y said.

“My motion sensors are still picking up a great deal of movement.”  Tempo said.  “We had best wait until-“

She was interrupted by a sharp tug at the door.

“What was that?”  Y asked.

“Not the bees.”  Tempo tightened he grip and braced herself, but in that awkward position, it wasn’t enough.  The door was pulled open, Tempo going with it.  And since Madam Y was tangled up with her, the woman was pulled outside as well.  They tumbled to the ground in a jumbled mess of hair and limbs.

“Well, aren’t you two cozy?”

The two looked up at the voice.  Two Robot masters stood before them.  One was purple and had a spiral on his head, the other was bee like, and was waving her fingers about like a symphony conductor.  The swarm was still there but it was covering the trailers and cars, almost as if they were hiding what was going on outside from the occupants within.

“Who are you two?”  Tempo asked as she pulled herself up.  “Are you two the cause of this swarm?”

“You ARE clever!”  The purple robot nodded.  “That is correct, although technically it is Honey Woman here that is manipulating the bees.”

“This is what I do when we pollinate farms and fields!”  Honey Woman chimed in happily.

“I see.”  Without warning, Tempo grabbed Madam Y by the collar and tossed her back into the shed.  “Stay in there!”  She ordered.

Y didn’t argue this time.  She just grabbed the door and slammed it shut.  Tempo materialized her drill arm, and Quake Woman got ready for a fight.

’In this case, the best course of action is to defeat these two!’  Quake Woman thought.  ’It will clear the swarm, and we can question them from their ICU chips later.’  Her mind made up, she charged forward, aiming for the target like spiral on Hypno Man’s head.

“Spiral Daze!”

The flash of light blasted Tempo in the face, leaving her stunned.

“That was very clever think, my dear Quake Woman.”  Hypno Man patted her motionless head.  “In any other circumstances, that might have worked!”  He pulled out his special watch.  “But not on me!”

He swung the watch before her eyes, his spiral spinning for a few seconds.  Then he finished and snapped his fingers.

Quake Woman stood at attention.  “What are your orders, master?”

Hypno Man chuckled.  “Well, my dear Quake Woman, why don’t you introduce me to your other friend?”

Quake Woman turned around and grabbed the door handle.  With a sharp pull, she tore the door off its hinges.  Madam Y was cowering within, having heard everything that happened outside.

“Wh-what’s going here?”  The pink haired woman asked.  “Why are you obeying this weirdo?”

“Master, this is Madam Y.”  Quake Woman explained.  “She works for the X Corporation.”

“X Corporation?”  Hypno Man repeated.  “What does she do there?”

“I’m not sure master.”  Quake Woman explained.  “She just shows up and throws the company’s weight around when they want something.  It’s really quite bothersome.”

“Hey!  We are within all our legal rights when we-gah!”

Hypno Man got really close to Y’s face.  “Hmm…  I think I might have a use for a higher up of X Corp.  Restrain her girls!”

Honey Woman and Quake Woman each took an arm and dragged Madam Y out of the toolshed.  They held in place before Hypno Man.

“I can’t believe this!”  Madam Y exclaimed.  “You shouldn’t be doing this!  This can’t be happening!”

“You don’t have to believe it.”  Hypno Man cupped Y’s face with his hand, pointing her at the spiral on his head.  “You just have to obey.”

The spiral spun, and Madam Y found soon lost any thoughts of resistance.  The two Fembot Masters released their captive, and Madam Y stood at attention.

“How can I serve you, Master Hypno Man?”

“Tell, Miss Y, what was X Corp. doing here?”

“We were hoping to use a little know loophole in local law to secure the property rights to this area.”  Y explained.  “There’s an odd energy signature here, and we wished to secure it.”

“Energy signature?  That might be useful…”  Hypno Man stroke his chin thoughtfully.  “Can you secure it?”

Quake Woman chimed in.  “If I work with the X corp. members currently here, it could be done in two more days.”

“Too long then.”  Hypno man shook his head.  “We’ll leave it for now.  If we stay too long, someone will likely show up and interfere.  We had best get going.”

“Yes master.”  All three girls replied.

“but first!”  Hypno Man looked over at the vehicles and buildings where the humans were hiding from the bees.  “Let’s do some more recruiting.  My base feels so empty after all…”

Light Labs, a few days later…

“There’s still no word from her, Thomas!”  Doctor Noele Lalinde was struggling not to cry.  “X corp. had a group in that area, but they claim that the group has gone missing as well!  I don’t know what to do!”

Thomas Light placed an arm around her shoulders.  “Don’t worry, Noele.  I’ve already sent Megaman and Rush out to search the area!  I’m sure we’ll find some kind of clue!”

“I hope so…”

Roll was standing to the side, griping with worry.  First Splash Woman, now Tempo?  What evil fiend could be doing this?

“Yes…  It definitely feels better having a large group of people working here!”  Hypno Man declared as the former X corp. members worked at various jobs. “Brings a nice little sense of excitement to the place, wouldn’t you agree, Quake Woman?”

“I don’t get excited, Master.”

“Oh…”  He faceplate palmed.  “Of course not…”

Hypno Man’s scheme continues to grow!  Who will be the next victim on his reign of terror?

“What about peppy?  Can you do peppy?”

“No.”
